Maire Trombley
Maire Trombley of Catmint Crafts is a mom of three, educator and local artisan specializing in 3D polymer clay earrings and embroidered accessories. She has always dabbled in traditional crafts and looked for ways to integrate the arts with her kids at home and students at school. In 2022, she left the classroom to be a special education paraprofessional instead. This better work/life balance opened up more room for her creativity, and at the encouragement of her husband, Catmint Crafts was born. She now has work in over 15 shops in Maine and New Hampshire and teaches classes in the Southern Maine area.
Elise DeSalvo
Elise is a jewelry designer, artist, and creative educator based in Windham, Maine. Growing up on a small island, she spent much of her childhood exploring her parents’ boatyard, gathering materials for her earliest creations. Whether it was rope, old electrical wires, or seashells, she was always drawn to transforming found objects into something new. That lifelong passion for making eventually evolved into a woman-owned and women-run jewelry business.
With over 15 years of experience in jewelry design, Elise holds a degree in Textiles, Merchandising & Design from the University of Rhode Island. Her creative journey took her from selling handmade pieces at craft fairs and pop-up events to opening her own brick-and-mortar shop in 2018. There, she cultivated a collaborative space featuring local artisans and offering personalized design experiences. Today, her business thrives in a custom-built studio—a dream space brought to life by her husband, a skilled carpenter.
In addition to selling directly to customers, Elise’s jewelry is carried in shops across the country, with wholesale being a major part of her business. She partners with boutiques and retailers to bring her handcrafted designs to a wider audience, ensuring that each piece maintains the same level of artistry and craftsmanship that defines her brand.
Beyond running her business, Elise is a mom to two energetic young boys and a dog named Zephyr. Balancing motherhood, entrepreneurship, and creativity has taught her the importance of making time for personal artistic expression. Whether it’s designing jewelry, junk journaling, or simply getting outside, she finds endless inspiration in the creative process.
In 2024, Elise expanded her artistic journey by leading jewelry-making workshops both in her studio and at inspiring venues. Her workshops are more than just classes; they provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where people can connect, explore their creativity, and craft something meaningful. Whether working with beginners or experienced makers, Elise is passionate about sharing her expertise and encouraging others to embrace their own artistic abilities.
Her mission is to inspire creativity, self-expression, and connection through jewelry, art, and hands-on making.
Let’s create something beautiful together!
